How To Enjoy Golf And Have More Fun On The Course

I've always been a sportsman, but there’s something else about golf. The peaceful and often stunning scenery is a something that usually lifts my spirits.
There is no better way to clear your thoughts than with calmness and being away from the everyday world. On most courses, you don't notice an automobile, hustling and busy people, or any form of annoying noise. While the settings are commonly wonderful, and range so much from course to course, my favorite part about the game is that I'm essentially playing against myself even in a group.
While this is not the case for some, it’s the way that the game is designed to be played. Arnold Palmer once claimed the toughest competitor he ever had was himself. What he meant was that frequently the largest obstacle a golfer faces is himself: The struggle to control himself mentally and emotionally while on the course. This part of a golfers game is commonly referred to as mental golf.
Attempting to improve my game is a challenge I enjoy and continually work at, as most golfers do. Some days the driver will be working, the irons will be on fire, or my short game will be stellar. What I do in these situations is think about the good shots on the way home and try to visualize my success. Visualization is one of the mental golf techniques I discovered the pro’s use to help to keep them at the top of their game. I figured if it helps them it may work for me to. It does, and it helps me make each round more successful and more fun.
Overall, the good laughs and time spent went with friends is what I always remember most about a round of golf. People don’t remember numbers. They remember moments. An individual victory is one to be savored. That is why golf brings so much joy to people who play it.
