Why Hinging Your Wrists Creates Lag

Some golfers who don’t know any better think that flipping their wrist will produce more clubspeed. “Flipping” is when you move your wrist side-to-side rather than up and back down. If you wear a watch, flipping is when you move your hand away from the face and back towards it.
If you flip your wrist this way, you are going to have extraordinarily inconsistent contact. It’s difficult to flip your wrist forwards and backwards the exact same way every time if you want to get your club face back to square. Not merely will your swing not be square, but your loft will change as well.
The thing you’ve got to do for generating more distance is to hinge the club straight up. A real instance of this is if you hold your arm straight out in front of you and cock your wrist so your thumb moves toward your body. Your hands should face the same way in relation to your arms throughout the whole swing.
