Explanation Of Different Kinds Of Golf Tee Boxes
Friday, April 13th, 2012During the last couple of years, golf has become an increasingly popular sport. Kids and adults pick up the game for its camaraderie, challenge and the delight they get while playing. Amateurs though, face a steep learning process in order to pick up the game. One of the lessons a new golfer must learn are the basic components of a golf course.
Most courses have different designs terrains, shapes and lengths, but they have also got a lot of the things terribly similar across all golf courses. Irrespective of what course you play on, you’ll find these items present on the course.
Today we are going to chat about the tee box. Here’s where you start the hole, so you may as well start here while studying about the fundamental elements of the course you will be playing. You are about to find out about the different set of tee markers for each hole.
The tee boxes are one of the few things a new golfer have to understand. Generally, each golf course has at least three, but more usually four tees to drive from at the start of each hole. These teeing boxes are usually marked with either a red, white and blue or black marker.
Most girls hit at the red markers, and they’re ordinarily called the ladies’ tees. This is the box found closest to the green or golf hole. Younger players and beginners should also play from this set of markers.
The white tee boxes are found right after the women tees. This is considered the regular box and is mostly where a median golfer starts a hole.
The blue tee markers are what we call the “championship tees”. This is especially made for golfers possessing a lower handicap or play better than the average golfer. These teeing areas are sometimes marked with a black marker, but the black marker is mostly set for the fourth or farthest tee box in most holes.
The black tee off boxes are also generally considered as the championship tees, but they are further away than the blue tees. Whatever the starting point on each hole, these tees customarily have at least 3 tee boxes. You want to choose what ability level you are and play from the tee box that fits your game. You shouldn’t play from the championship tee if you are a beginner.
To get the maximum delight out of your round, play the tee boxes that fit your skill level. Only scratch golfers and pros should play the back tees. Beginners should play the front, and everybody else the middle tees.
