Set Challenging But Reachable Golf Training Goals

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

My targets have helped me reach where I am. There have been times when I have achieved what I had set out for but there have also been times when I just missed my goal. These successes and failures have been my stepping stones to success.

I have written this article to guide you on how to set goals for yourself. Personally I am impressed by Leslie Cameron?s methodology and would recommend it to all. To start with, set a goal that is ?achievable? rather than setting an unachievable goal for you. Research and see if anyone prior to you has been able to achieve the same goal. If no, what is the basis on which you feel you shall be able to do it? The answers to these questions would give you clarity on whether your targets are reasonable or not.

Secondly analyze the monetary costs and personal costs this goal would coat you. For example the regularity of your extra golf sessions would depend completely on you. Keep in mind that you may need to forfeit certain personal engagements too and need to be mentally tuned to do so.

Check the resources required for achieving your goal. Your health, strength, flexibility, posture etc should be in prime shape for being able to achieve your golf goals. Check your technique and see if your coach can guide you adequately on getting it right.

Finally, ask yourself, IF I COULD HAVE THE GOAL NOW, or at the appropriate time, WOULD I TAKE IT? Hopefully, you will answer yes to this last question. If not, complete the process again until you find a goal that fits. Learn to set rolling goals. By that I mean, always be aware that there is a future beyond the next goal. You may like to try the process for yourself using any golf goal that is relevant to you:

1. What are my expectations from my life and where do I wish to be?

2. Do I have it in me to fulfill my goals?

3) What will I accept as evidence that I have achieved my goal?

4. Do I have it in me to fulfill the target?

5. Am I mentally prepared to bear the costs and compromises for achieving the goal?

6) Do I have all the resources I need to achieve my goal?

7. If I achieve my goal after a certain time would it be acceptable to me?

Answer these and get ready to achieve your targets.

Finding Different Types Of Golf Balls

Monday, June 28th, 2010

It is amazing how many different brands of golf balls are out there. It seems like a new version appears nearly every week. Golf balls are big business as the giants compete for your dollar. Companies like Titleist, Callaway and Nike are just a few of the heavy hitters out there. The question is what is the big difference between one golf ball and the next?

Getting used golf balls instead of new ones will save a ton of money while letting you experiment with different kinds. Most used balls have excellent quality, and can usually be purchased for prices up to 50% lower than new ones. Finding the right retailer can take a little time, but they can be online or in regular stores.

There are also a lot of cheap golf balls out there that are just perfect for the high handicap player. These particular balls don’t make a difference in the eyes of the golfer that has a 20 handicap or more. To be honest, paying a lot for a ball at this level is just a waste of money.

If you are a player that falls into this category, keep your money and invest in lessons or good clubs. Getting inexpensive balls at any sporting goods retailer is easy.

One of the greatest marketing tools is using golf balls. They are a smash at things like company events, charity functions and tournaments. Golf balls with your logo on them will get your name tossed around like a ping pong ball.

Consider lost golf balls, and think how many are out there that get snatched by golfers everywhere. Now think how nice it would be to have your logo on lots of those balls.

Make your golf balls express your personality or tastes by personalizing them. They can make a great and cool gift that is one of a kind. You can put anything you want on them, but popular things are pictures and engravings.

There is no shortage of ways to customize and tweak golf balls, and as long as gofers keep buying these versatile little globes, they will continue to grow in popularity and style.
